Seco Tools introduces the JS754 Stub Series
The JS754 Stub Series employs a four-flute design specifically crafted for mill-turn and multi-tasking machines. It incorporates the industry-proven JS754 cutting geometry and is equipped with a unique HXT coating, delivering exceptional performance during machining operations. The design of the Seco JS754 series makes it particularly well-suited for challenging applications involving ISO M (stainless steel) and S (heat-resistant superalloys and titanium) materials. The shorter length of the JS754 Stub enhances strength and vibration control, ensuring increased tool stability when machining with main or sub spindles, as well as milling heads and driven tools.
Perfect for setups with limited clearance, the JS754 Stub Series is ideal for CNC mill-turn and multi-tasking machines with restricted machining envelopes. The short protrusion lengths of these end mills require less space in the sub- or second spindles of these machines. This series provides freedom of movement, allowing for easy manoeuvrability around workpieces and improving tool stability in tight workspaces. By leveraging the benefits of mill-turn and multi-tasking machines, such as reduced setup times and enhanced part quality, manufacturers can maximize the advantages provided by the JS754 Stub Series.
Available in both chamfer and corner radius configurations, the JS754 Stub series comes in diameters ranging from 3 mm to 16 mm. It is offered in cylindrical and Weldon shanks to accommodate different machining requirements.
Rob Mulders of SECO Tools explains, "The high-mix/low volume (HMLV) production environment, prevalent in various manufacturing sectors, especially general machining and aerospace, continues to drive the need for automation and efficiency, often achieved through mill-turn and multi-tasking machines. The JS754 Stub Series offers significant flexibility for single-setup part manufacturing, which is a key feature of these versatile machines."
Additionally, the JS754 Stub end mills contribute to reduced waste. With their shorter cutting length, they ensure full cutter engagement along the entire tool length, maximizing cutter edge utilization. This optimization minimizes carbide waste, leading to improved efficiency and increased sustainability.
In summary, the Seco JS754 Stub Series empowers manufacturers to overcome challenges associated with difficult materials and unstable machining conditions. With its versatility, enhanced tool life, and reduced waste, this series provides a reliable and cost-effective milling solution.
