The Crazy Sports Cars Driven In Ted Lasso Season 3
Premier League footballers are known for their outlandish tastes in sports and luxury cars and Ted Lasso's AFC Richmond is no different.
English Premier League footballers buying ridiculously overpowered and look-at-me-type cars is nothing new. If anything it's a rite of passage for any successful top-flight soccer player to purchase one. It's part of the package. From the typical G-wagon to the sportier offerings from European manufacturers, any Premier League training ground parking lot will have them all.
It is no surprise then that NBC's hit character Ted Lasso has taken his namesake show on Apple TV+ to its 3rd successful season. And the bonus for us car nerds is that the car game just keeps getting stronger. Set in a leafy south London neighborhood, the fictional AFC Richmond has its training ground car park filled with some very nice sports cars indeed.
Throughout season 3 we've been introduced to a few new cars that have stolen the award for the coolest car on the show. But there are some characters whose cars have developed and grown with them, and there are even some super rare British favorites to be mentioned. Here are some of the best cars in Ted Lasso season 3.

Okay, spoiler alerts inbound. Nate Shelley aka. Nate The Great ended season 2 on bad terms with his team over at AFC Richmond. This meant that he made a move to ex-Richmond owner Rupert Mannions newest acquisition West Ham United and assumed the position of head coach.
As part of his new image, an aged Nate was shown with gray hair and some more tired-looking features. Some of you will remember his trusty green classic Austin Mini from seasons 1 and 2. Is there anything more British than a classic mini? However, at West Ham, the Mini looks incredibly out of place in the car park when parked alongside the latest Ferraris, Bentleys, and McLarens.
Halfway through season 3's first episode, Rupert tries to have the car hauled away, thinking it to belong to one of the new cleaners until Nate admits that the vehicle is in fact his. Before the episode finished, Rupert gifts the "Wonderkid" a new set of wheels. A silver 2022 Aston Martin DB11. A car that is much more fitting for the world of top-tier English football.
The Aston Martin DB11 is powered by a Mercedes-Benz 4.0-liter V8 as standard and will do the 0-60MPH sprint in just 4 seconds. The peak power output is rated at 528 hp which is sent exclusively to the rear wheel through a rear-mounted ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox. This, in Rupert Mannion's eyes, is much more fitting for a manager of nates level, and certainly a step up from the humble little mini.
As in every Premier League parking lot, fiction or not, there will always be an array of expensive, exotic cars lining the rows. AFC Richmond is no different. Throughout all three seasons of Ted Lasso, we've seen a fair share of sports and luxury cars that were either owned or driven by the characters. Each car is the perfect fit for the character.
Perhaps the most impressive and quite "deep-cut" in the British sports car industry is Colin Hughes' Noble M600. The orange supercar is one of the rarest that you're likely to see driving on British roads. According to a registry, there are only nine cars on the streets of the UK. What's perhaps most memorable is when Colin knocks over the bins when reversing out of his driveway. Given its license plate safe to judge that this car is a Noble fleet car.
The M600 is a hand-built sports car designed and constructed entirely in the UK. It's mainly a stainless steel and carbon fiber constructed vehicle that uses a twin-turbocharged Volvo/Yamaha V8 engine to put out up to 650 hp. There were manual and semi-automatic versions available too, but regardless, the M600 ceased production in 2018. Either way, good choice, Colin.
Rebecca Welton remains as Richmond owner for her 3rd consecutive season, and as a powerful lady in business, she is often seen in a mid-late 00s Rolls-Royce Phantom. And, most fittingly, she is always seen entering the back seats and being driven off by her chauffeur. Classy. The Phantom is finished in pearl white and silver wheels, a very regal and sophisticated specification.

It could be argued that journalist-turned-author Trent Crim has the coolest car of them all. His vintage Mercedes-Benz is a standout in the AFC Richmond parking lot every episode. A gorgeous gold/silver metallic 1986 300SL hardtop. After some detrital checking, we found that it's a 3-liter gas motor, first registered in October 1986 with a total factory power of 185 hp. This exact car is still in use today, pretty impressive seeing as it's 36 years old and has around 130k on the clock.
Another contender for the coolest car in NBC's tag lasso season 3, is Roy Kent's classic Mercedes-AMG G63 finished in all black. For those of you who don't know, the G wagon has become somewhat of a status symbol, especially in Premier League football. Roy, a man who is known for his dry humor and signature all-black attire throughout the season, matches his angry V8 Mercedes truck to his aesthetic.
Last but certainly not least, we have Samuel Obsisanya's Tesla Model 3. Well to many of us this is just a normal run-of-the-mill electric car, for a Premier League footballer to choose this over all the gas-guzzling, overpowered, and extremely expensive cars says a lot about the character that the writers want to portray Sam. His decision to go to an EV rather than pick out a big V8 truck or supercar is unsurprising given his thoughtful actions during all 3 seasons.

Unfortunately for all of us hardcore Ted Lasso fans season 3 has been confirmed that it will be the final one. The show's lead actor, producer and writer Jason Sudeikis has confirmed that season 3 is in fact the last we will ever see of the award-winning show. So if you were expecting more crazy sports cars in another season, we hate to break it to you. This being said, it was known that this was the plan for a long, long time, and in an interview, Sudeikis said "This is the end of the story that we wanted to tell, that we were hoping to tell, that we loved to tell."
Ted Lasso, apart from the great car selection and all the brilliant comedy, has captured the hearts of watchers both old and young from across the globe and will for sure leave an AFC Richmond-shaped hole in our hearts. It is a heartwarming piece of TV and gave across more emotion than we ever thought was possible from an NBC character that started off in a commercial. The one hope we do have is that Sudeikis has teased some potential spin-offs. Fingers crossed.
